HYDERABAD: The staff of Hyderabad railway station have allegedly demanded bribe from an Indian Muslim family to issue them tickets.
Barkat Ali and two other members of his family were denied return tickets by the railway authorities of Hyderabad railway station.
They had come to visit their relatives here on one month visa via Thar express, a train that runs between Pakistan and India on Khokhrapar-Monabao track.
Barkat Ali told newsmen outside press club here that the booking officers at Hyderabad railway station are demanding bribe from him.
‘The cost of a ticket from Hyderabad to Monabao was Rs 500 but the booking clerk demanded Rs 3000. Our one month visa will expire on the 30th and if we are not issued train tickets by that time it could create problems for us,’ said Barkat.
He appealed to Khwaja Saad Rafiq to direct Hyderabad’s station master to issue them return tickets at government rates and punish them for demanding bribe.
