LAHORE: A girl has been burned to death by her mother over marrying a man of her choice in factory area of Lahore on Wednesday, a private TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to details, 17-year-old Zeenat had married Hassan a week ago after leaving her house. Recently, Zeenat’s mother contacted her and told her that she had forgiven her. After which, she assured her daughter that she wants to arrange proper family function for her marriage. Parveen took her daughter back home.
Reportedly, harsh exchange of dialogue had taken place; as a result Parveen doused Zeenat in petrol and set her on fire. The victim succumbed to burn injuries at hospital. Meanwhile, Police have arrested her mother and lodged an FIR against her.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken the notice of the incident and directed the police officials to present report of the incident.
