LARKANA: The delay in the results of annual examination 2015 of entire seven law colleges of Sukkur and Larkana Divisions could jeopardize the next academic session of the students.
Shah Abdul Lateef University (SALU) has not announced the results yet, making it difficult to get admissions in the said law colleges for those candidates who have cleared their intermediate 2016 examinations. The law colleges are located in Larkana, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, and Naushehro Feroze districts, and every college has been given as many as 100 seats.
The annual exams of 2015 were held two and half a month back but the authorities have not yet announced the results. It is therefore feared that the academic year of the students will start very late (at least by ten months) due to which they will lose a precious year.
SALU has introduced new curriculum for fresh candidates who will have to study for five years instead of three in all these colleges from the current year if admissions are made. In other universities of Sindh entry tests have already been held in August and admissions have also been completed or are in the process.
The entry test for admissions in these law colleges was to be held in August, and now the authorities are trying to conduct the same on October 31. “If SALU authorities announce its admission policy for 2017, then the students of 2015 will get their degree one and half a year late,” said a source.
